Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American TV personality and actress. She has a large following in America as well as around the globe for her role as leading actress on the TV Series 'The Closer.' Sedgwick's love for the arts, Broadway and acting began when she was just 12 years old. Her mother showed a keen passion for the Broadway and encouraged her to go to the show. At the age of 16 Sedgwick was offered her first role as an actor on the show 'Another World'. She had a desire to become a well-known actress, not small television roles that first attracted her. In the film "Born in July 4th" with Tom Cruise also starred, she was noticed for the first-time on the big screen. After the success of this movie, Sedgwick got more roles in films such as "Singles," "Heart & Souls and 'Phenomenon' and so on. The TV movie called 'Lemon Sky' where she met her husband and actor Kevin Bacon and got married to him in the age of barely 22. Sedgwick has left her mark in American television with her effortless performing. The Closer ran for 7 seasons and won her many awards including the Golden Globe.
