Alexandra-Maria-Lara
Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actor and TV host. She is best known for her role as the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. As the only children of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various television dramas by the time she was sixteen. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. In the past, Alexandra has worked in several important international and national productions. The projects comprise British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as in addition to the French history mini-series Napoleon. She has also been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival.
