Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her professional career in the show business at an early age. At the age of 16, she was 16years old, Alexandra was able to land leading roles in several television dramas. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated film starring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's professional career has included work on a number of significant national and international productions. One of these is the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon. She also served in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
